The Foundation attended the Annual Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition Conference and the AFSP National Capitol Day in Tallahassee, Florida. Leaders in suicide prevention from the Florida Public School Systems, Florida Law Enforcement, healthcare providers and health networks spoke about changes that needed to be made in our current system.

During Capitol Day, they met with bill writers, public policy council members, and local state reps and senators advocating for a better mental health future in Florida. The AFSP website has more information on when your local Capitol Day is and you too can get involved to advocate for your state! The Dr. Brandt Foundation is looking forward to putting what they learned to real tangible action and making mental health wellness and suicide prevention a priority for our communities.
